Falkland School Talent Show 2024
📆 Upcoming Events
Hello Falkland Families,
Newsletter – Please CLICK HERE to view our most recent newsletter if you haven’t had a chance to yet.
Solar Eclipse – On Monday, April 8th we will be experiencing a partial solar eclipse. More information will be emailed home to families directly from the School District office. The partial eclipse is expected to start at 10:40 am and last until 12:20 pm. In all SD83 elementary and middle schools, students will stay indoors during this time. Some classrooms may choose to watch this meteorological event online. We will be doing our usual recess outside from 9:45 – 10:00 am and will remain indoors for lunch time play. It is unknown at this time but our performance, Black Dog Quartet start time may be delayed.
Cross Country Running Team – Our first practice for the Cross Country Running Team will be on Tuesday, April 9th. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday until Tuesday, May 9th. Instead of eating first, students will run from 11:30 – 12:00, then eat their lunch from 12:00 – 12:15. More information will be sent home with student that are interested in joining the Cross Country Running Team. If you are interested in helping supervise during practice or after, during eating time, please let Mrs. Cull know. A police information check must be complete.
Student Led Conferences – This year our Student Led Conferences will be held on Thursday, May 2nd between 2:30 – 4:30 pm. More information about how to sign up will be coming home next week.
Dress Code – With the warmer weather coming we would like to take this opportunity to remind you about our dress code. At Falkland School appropriate coverage is expected in all learning environments (playground, classroom and gymnasium). Students wearing clothing which is too revealing, including bare backs, bare midriffs, spaghetti straps, plunging necklines, muscle shirts, short shorts, or clothing not suitable for the task at hand, will be asked to wear something more appropriate, or be given something to wear. Underwear needs to be under your outerwear, and therefore, should not be visible. Footwear must be worn at all times. Inside shoes are mandatory for all students to be sure our school stays clean.
Bikes/Scooters/Skateboards – Also with the warmer weather we expect more bikes to be arriving at school. Students are expected to dismount their bikes/scooters/skateboards at one of the four openings in our chain linked fence and walk their bikes/scooters/skateboards along the pathways. Helmets must be worn. Bikes must be locked up at the bike racks. Scooters and skateboards can be stored in the office if there is no room in the classroom. Students are not allowed to ride their bikes/scooters/skateboards on school grounds during the school day. Students are asked to walk their bikes/scooters/skateboards along the pathway to one of the openings in our chain linked fence to leave the school ground at the end of the day. We ask that students not ride their bikes/scooters/skateboards in the parking lot after school if vehicles are still present.
Plant Fundraiser – Please CLICK HERE for more information about our Annual Spring Plant Fundraiser that is happening now. Orders & payment are due by Friday, April 19th. Plant pick up will be on Tuesday, May 7th.
