Upcoming Events
Hello Falkland Families,
Falkland Stampede Community Breakfast – On Friday, May 17th, students will be dressed in their cowfolk attire for our annual community breakfast to kick off the Stampede May long weekend extravaganza. As always, the community is welcome to attend by donation. Breakfast opens at 7:45 am for the community and our classrooms will be invited two at a time after attendance is taken. A big thank you to our PAC for providing this opportunity for our students and broader community. 8:20-8:45 Div 5 and 6, 8:45 – 9:05 Div 3 and 4 and 9:05 – 9:25 Div 1 and 2.
Rodeo Passes – The Falkland Stampede Committee has donated a one day free child’s admission pass to each of the students in our school. These bright pink passes are being sent home with students today, please check your child’s backpack for them. Thank you to the Falkland Stampede Committee for this generous donation.
Being a good neighbor – We hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend at the 104th Falkland Stampede. Historically, our school has experienced mild to significant damage and vandalism over the May Long Weekend. As a good neighbour, we respectfully request that you contact the non emergency RCMP line at 250-546-3028 (or in the case of an emergency, 911) if you notice any suspicious activity on our school grounds. Thank you for your help in making sure students return to a clean and safe school and playground on Tuesday.
Yearbook – Our 2023-2024 yearbook cover page winner was decided by a vote last week. Congratulations to Valentina in Div. 4 with 31 votes! Just a reminder to please send your yearbook payment into the office if you haven’t already.
Grade 8 Celebration Information – Students in Grades 7 and 8 are coming home with either a yellow or orange information questionnaire today. The volunteer information sheets are due back to school by Tuesday May 21st. The Grade 8 Grad RSVP information sheets are due back to school by Friday, May 31st.
Volunteers Needed – Volunteers are needed for the PAC Bottle Drive on Saturday, May 25th from 10am – 2pm. The more Grade 8 parents and students that come out to help the better the chances are we can earn up to $1000 towards the Grade 8 Grad Celebration. Please RSVP the office or Mrs. Cull if you are able to help with these school events.
Photos (class & whole school) – We will be having our classroom photos taken by Mrs. McAfee on Friday, May 24th and a whole school photo on Tuesday, May 28th. Mrs. McAfee will also be taking the individual Grade 8 photos on Thursday, May 23rd.
