“Think About Me” Violation Ticket Initiative at Falkland School
Students in our youngest four divisions at Falkland School (Grade k – 5) were invited to take part in a “Think About Me” violation ticket contest recently. This initiative proposed by Corporal Bowen and Constable Braun was a huge hit with over 55 students participating. Students were invited to decorate a “Think About Me” violation ticket (several pictured below) and enter it in a contest if interested in accompanying RCMP officers on duty during school time.
Eight students were selected and are pictured below. They are: (front row left to right) Damian Frank, Max Moody, Gavin Gillman, Swayzie Roshinksy, Isabelle McAfee, Ava McTimoney, Aafje Amstutz, and (back row) Daizee Tress. Seen also left to right is Corporal Bowen, Constable Braun, Constable McLeod and Constable Crockart.
Students listened as Constable Braun explained the operation they would be a part of, including the safety zone that children had to stay in until it was time to accompany an officer to complete their mission.
The operation involved detecting speeders and giving them their personalized “Think About Me” violation ticket if deemed appropriate by police.
We are so grateful to these officers for spending this time with our students and engaging them in the importance of keeping our community safe. All students who entered the contest were able to tour the police vehicles and ask Corporal Bowen and Constable Crockart questions about their police work. Their presence at our school and in our community is appreciated.
