Hello Falkland Families,

Winter Rec Update (Grade 4 – 8 students) – We have re-scheduled our third Silver Star Winter Rec day for Wednesday, February 7^th. Students in grades 4 – 8 will be going to Silver Star for Winter Rec on the following days:

-Friday, Jan 19^th

-Friday, Jan 26^th

-Wednesday, Feb 7^th

Please be sure your child has appropriate clothing including, water resistant gloves or mittens, warm winter jacket, snow pants, snow boots, touque, helmet, goggles or sunglasses, etc. More information has been sent via email to parents of Grade 4 – 8 students.

Our whole school tubing day at Silver Star is set for Wednesday, March 13^th. Permission forms coming home soon.

Numeracy Night – Wednesday, Jan 24^th Please contact the office if you would like to come to this family event. A take away package containing cards and various dice will be provided.

Breakfast Club & Lunch Top Up Program – Our breakfast club is well attended each and every morning. We encourage students to pop in, even for a second breakfast. Christine Leclerc, our meals program provider has expanded our menu this year and the students are loving it. Breakfast sandwiches, wraps, yogurt parfaits, cereal, toast, muffins, smoothies and more. Everyone is welcome.

We also have a lunch top up program for students if they find they are still hungry after their own lunch. In the lunch top up bin options include cheese strings, pepperoni, granola bars, fruit, etc.

Valentine’s Day Candygrams (PAC) – Falkland School PAC is doing Candygram fundraiser again this year for Valentine’s Day. Forms for students to fill out will be sent home soon. The cost is $1 per candygram. Payment and forms are due back to school by Thursday, February 8^th. Please CLICK HERE for more information.

Valentine’s Family Dance (PAC) – Falkland School PAC is organizing a Valentine’s Family Dance on Thursday, Feb 15^th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. PAC is collecting items for raffle baskets until Thursday, Feb 8^th and items for the bake sale can be dropped off at school on Thursday, Feb 15^th before noon. This is a family event for Falkland School Students. All children must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult. Please CLICK HERE for more information.
