Hello Falkland Families,

Book Fair – Our Scholastic book fair is coming up soon and we are in need of volunteers to help. The book fair will run from Monday, Nov. 20^th to Thursday, Nov. 23^rd.  Please let Shelly know if you are interested in volunteering with set up on Friday, Nov. 17^th afterschool, sales through the week 1 – 3 pm and/or take down on Thursday, Nov. 23^rd.

Supervision – Please note there is NO SUPERVISION at the school prior to 8:00 am. Supervision after school is available for bus students until 2:27 pm or whenever our bus leaves. Students should arrive to school after 8:00 am. Students are expected to head home promptly at the end of day bell as per their usual after school plan. Students are more than welcome to return to school after 2:30 pm at the discretion and supervision of their parents. If your child has after school instructions that are different that their norm, please advise the school office in advance. We also can deliver messages to students in the event that your usual plans change.

Lice Prevention – Schools no longer conduct school wide checks as the primary responsibility for the control of head lice rests with the family.  If a case of head lice is made known to the school, it is managed confidentially and sensitively. When the school is made aware of head lice, we contact all families in that students’ classroom by email. SD83 policy ensures that students are welcome to attend school as long as they have undergone treatment. Fundraisers – Just a reminder that the Winter Poinsettia Fundraiser and the PAC Art Fundraiser are both due by Friday, Nov 17^th.  There will be a prize for the student who sells the most Poinsettias. Please CLICK HERE to access our PAC’s Christmas Basket Raffle. We are now accepting donations.

Upcoming PAC Meeting – Hope you can joinTuesday, Nov 21^st at 2:30 pm in the staff room. Child minding available in the StrongStart space for those attending. Just a reminder Mrs. Cull will be reviewing learning standards in the health curriculum.

How to Resolve Your Inquiries and Concerns – Mrs. Cull cares deeply about the students and families at Falkland School and believes strongly in solving problems when problems are small.
