Truth and Reconciliation at Falkland School

On Wednesday, September 29th Falkland School students and staff wore Orange Shirts to honour residential school survivors and their families. We participated in learning opportunities to acknowledge the harmful effects of residential schools on our Indigenous communities and show our committment in moving towards Truth and Reconciliation. Here are a few photos of the day’s events.

Thanks to Jill Pruner, CEA for use of the handmade drums. This song is meant to honour and remember the Indigenous children that were discovered this Spring at the former Kamloops Residential School grounds. Let’s also remember the approximate (and thought to be rising) 6500 unmarked graves across Turtle Island.
